3D printing transparent hand board can be printed with transparent resin. You only need to send your 3D model file to the 3D printing service company to print it. After printing out the model, it is not transparent. You need to polish, spray oil and UV to have a completely transparent hand board model. Compared with traditional methods, 3D printing is faster and cheaper, especially for complex model structure.
In the traditional handicraft industry, there are two main materials for making transparent handicraft: PC and acrylic. The manufacturing methods of these two kinds of handicraft are basically the same, mainly CNC processing and vacuum replica.
There are basically only three steps to make a transparent hand board by CNC processing: programming, CNC processing and polishing. The first two steps are the same. Only in the polishing process is different. Acrylic only needs sandpaper or polishing machine to achieve the transparent effect, while PC hand board needs fumigation to achieve the transparent effect.
The principle of making transparent hand board by vacuum replica is basically like this: first, a prototype is made by CNC processing or SLA, and then the silicone mold is made by this prototype, and then the silicone mold is used for batch replication. However, the handboard made in this way can only be translucent, and its hardness and high temperature resistance are not as good as those processed by CNC.
