Surface wire drawing treatment is a surface treatment method to form lines on the workpiece surface by grinding products and play a decorative effect. Because the surface wire drawing treatment can reflect the texture of metal materials, it has been loved by more and more users and widely used.
For the processing method of surface wire drawing, different processing methods shall be selected according to the requirements of wire drawing effect and the size and shape of different workpiece surfaces. There are two ways of wire drawing: manual wire drawing and mechanical wire drawing.
1. Flat pressing sand belt drawing:
Flat pressing wire drawing is a very common wire drawing method. The workpiece is fixed on the die, and the abrasive belt runs at high speed. There is a pneumatically controlled pressure block that can move up and down on the back of the abrasive belt. After pressing down, the abrasive belt adheres to the machined surface for wire drawing. The commonly used equipment is flat pressing belt sander. Flat pressing wire drawing is suitable for small area flat wire drawing surface. It is widely used in the wire drawing of digital camera shell, mobile phone shell and so on. The lines on the surface of this drawing are usually straight wires with continuous lines.
Because the use of abrasive belt has a wide selection of particle size range, both rough and obvious hand feel lines can be processed with coarse-grained abrasive belt, and fine silk lines can also be processed with fine-grained abrasive belt. 3M company can provide not only ordinary abrasive belt, but also pyramid series abrasive belt and non-woven nylon abrasive belt more suitable for wire drawing. When the abrasive belt grinds and draws wire on this surface as a whole, it will produce a lot of heat, and the problem of stress concentration will occur on the drawing side of the workpiece, especially on thin-walled parts. Therefore, this method is suitable for small area wire drawing.
Because it is a down pressing operation, it is usually applied to the plane, and there shall be no protruding platform on the surface, such as protruding text marks, etc. However, through the ingenious design of dies such as pressing block, wire drawing can also be carried out on slightly curved workpieces. The specific method should be discussed according to the degree of bending.
2. Non woven roller brush wire drawing: the workpiece is transported by the conveyor belt through the non-woven roller brush, and the roller brush rotates at high speed to wire the workpiece surface. During wire drawing, roller brush vibration and roller brush non vibration can be adopted, and different processing speeds can be matched at the same time, so as to produce lines with different lengths. The vibration of non-woven roller brush can produce very uniform discontinuous filaments (short filaments); The non-woven roller brush does not vibrate and can produce continuous silk lines (filaments or straight filaments).
